Spring weather always makes me feel like dressing French. Black and white stripes, skinny jeans, a classic trench, a little pop of red, and some chic flats. Et voilà!
Finding jeans that work when you’re very petite like me can be a real challenge. Especially skinny jeans because the length needs to be just right. I’m not above cuffing, in fact it’s standard practice (as you see here) for me until I’ve washed a pair of jeans at least 3 times (to avoid over-shrinking), but I do prefer that the length be as close to right as possible when I buy the pant. It makes hemming and altering so much easier. One of the tricks I’ve found when searching for the right fit is to look for a cropped or ankle length jean and then buy it petite and that almost gets me to where I don’t need to do any hemming. I know, I’m so short, it’s silly. But, I wanted to let you know that these jeans are amazing. The fit is right on, and they are so, so comfortable, but they don’t get all stretched out as you wear them. J.Crew’s Cone denim is legit because these feel like butter on and hold their shape like a dream.
Here are a few other denim brand that I love and also work really well for a petite frame:
Madewell-even though they don’t carry petite lengths. (Please get petite lengths!) They’re jeans are magic. Magic I tell you! And worth hemming (or cuffing).
J.Crew’s petite jeans work well for me, and like I said, the cone denim is perfect.
I’ve had tons of good luck with Loft over the years and I cannot say enough good things about their petite sizing in general. It’s just spot on.
Paige and Hudson petites are a great option in the designer denim arena. Especially when it comes to bootcut jeans.
Zara’s boyfriend jeans forever have my hear, and the lengths are always petite friendly.
Happy Friday everyone! Hope you have a perfect weekend.
