DIY comic strip t shirt

Superhero fist bump to all you Sew Geekysters!

I had such epic plans for joining in with this month’s Marvel Vs DC theme, but hey, even superheroes have off days, right?

So we are keeping it really simple, with this custom DIY comic strip t shirt.

Supplies

  • T-shirt (store bought or home made)
  • Printer transfer paper
  • embellishments (we used dylon 3d puff paint)
  • Camera
  • Lego figures

Directions

Step 1

Set up your lego scene and take some photos for your comic strip.

Step 2

Print the photos onto the printer transfer paper. You can add extra graphics and text if you want.

Step 3

Cut out photos and iron in place on t shirt.

Step 4

Embellish your t shirt with 3d paint, or sequins etc.

Your kids will love having a t shirt made with their very own comic strip. I have more steps on creating photographic stories with kids in this superhero dinosaurs post. It is really great for getting their imagination working, flexing their creative muscles and practising all those storytelling and language skills!

Variations

Use permanent markers to mark out a comic strip box on a white t-shirt. Use fabric markers or washable markers (if you want to keep changing your story) to draw your own comic book scenes!
