Week 3 – 2015

As I predicted last week, there was no time to be around here on the blog, just time to work on the large submission for a magazine. I can only reveal the color; dark charcoal grey Rowan wool, pure dk. A beautiful material to crochet with, although I prefer to work with something that’s a little more bright now since the days are also very grey.

On that one bright day last week I went for a long walk with Floyd and we both got so excited, it felt like Spring! I see magnolia trees already have their flower buds ready to pop, so the warmer days can not be too far from us now.

To brighten the January days and get inspired while I crochet, I listen to the Woolful podcasts. If you are into natural fibers and interested to hear designers and wool enthusiasts talk, this is your place to go and get inspired! Ashley does a great job with her interviews and I am already looking forward to the next episodes.

Also very inspiring was my meeting with Ioana, the wonderful and determined lady behind Moeke Yarns. It is a Romanian based company that manufactures wool the traditional way, respecting culture, tradition, sheep and the wool product. Their yarn is divine, I will write a separate blog post about it to do it more justice.
