5 Minute DIY: Duct Tape Hair Clips

I'm so excited to partner with Scotch® Duct Tape for this week’s 5 Minute DIY tutorial! I don’t think I’ve ever done a kids/teen craft project, so I’m especially excited about this one. Growing up, my mom and I always did craft projects together so I thought this would be a fun mother/daughter project idea. Or even a birthday party craft activity. Either way, it’s super easy to make. And as duct tape patterns keep growing, you can create one to go with each outfit! I've always been amazed at all the creative ways duct tape is being used these days and with the growing selection of colors, I can only imagine the list will get longer.

After spotting some fun patterns like the Scary Cat and Rainbow Scales from Scotch®’s newest line of duct tapes, I knew turning them into hair clips would be a fun way to add a pop of color to plain hair accessories. Now, let's get started!

Materials:
Scotch® Duct Tape (I used: Rainbow Scales, Scary Cat, Pattern Crazy, Grey Elephants)
• Hair Clips • Piece of cardstock paper
• Scissors • Hot glue • Small embellishments (I used faux pearl stickers)

Steps:
• Cut out a piece of duct tape (about 5 inches).
• Fold it over the cardstock paper.
• Cut out a rectangular shape from the tape-covered cardstock, slightly larger than your hair clip. • Add a strip of hot glue on top of the hair clip and place the duct tape strip on top.
• Decorate with embellishments like faux pearl stickers.

I am proud to be a 3M- sponsored blogger, and, as part of my responsibilities, I get the opportunity to evaluate new products from Scotch® Duct Tape. Opinions are my own and additional product used in the project were selected by me. To see more creative projects, visit www.ScotchDuctTape.com and check them out on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest
