Coastal Scents 22 PC Brush Set- First Impressions
Welcome to part two of the brush extravaganza! As I said last week, I’ve been researching virtually every brand of makeup brushes like a mad woman. I’m putting my spending on hold since I’m going on vacation, and after this ‘First Impression’ I only have one more, but if you have any brands you’re curious about—please, please let me know! I will do my best to pick some up and review them!
Last week, I talked about the BH Cosmetics 36 PC Ultimate Brush Set (you can read that post here). I wasn’t completely 100% happy with that set at all, it had a lot of flaws. So when this Coastal Scents 22 PC Brush Set came in the mail, I was a little nervous to say the least. I was hoping that I would be more pleased with it.
Of course, when I first opened the box, I was hit with the overwhelming smell of plastic. After washing the brushes as well as the brush roll that they came in, that smell is completely gone. My one and only complaint with these brushes are that the handles are a tad short. Other than that, I absolutely love them. They are all extremely good quality, very soft and also dense but still have a bit of fluff and floppiness to them…which I personally like. There has been no shedding whatsoever, and I have washed them. To be honest, some of my MAC brushes shed during my weekly brush deep clean, and none of these did! I will more than likely order another set of these… Coastal Scents also has an Elite Brush Set that I have been eyeing. I’m really surprised at how much I like these brushes and how good of quality they are. Definitely a million times better than the BH Cosmetics ones.
These are not only good for the beginner, but for the professional as well. I threw a lot of these brushes into my kit after washing them, which is why I want to order another set, for myself.
Here’s a close up look at all 22 of the brushes, and their description according to the Coastal Scents website, which I will admit seems a bit…off for some of the brushes. I will probably use them differently.
