Hourglass Cosmetics Haul + BeautyCon Dallas

Ambient Lighting Powder in luminous light | Ambient Lighting Palette | Modernist Eyeshadow Palette in infinity Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in opal | Veil Mineral Primer
Hourglass Cosmetics has long been a brand that has really impressed me with their products. Nordstrom just started carrying in their stores and online so I couldn't help but pop by the counter the other day to check it out and ended up leaving with a haul of 5 new items to play with. While I haven't had a chance to try out everything yet, I wanted to share a look and first impressions review of what I have used so far!

I created a makeup look using the Modernist 'Infinity' eyeshadow palette on my eyes and ambient lighting powders in Radiant Light and Incandescent Light for a blush and highlight. The look was perfect for something that I could wear everyday. All the colors blended together so easily that I was able to pull off this full-face look in less than 10 minutes!

Modernist 'Infinity' palette: warm ivory, dusty rose, bronzed mauve, cool taupe, dark cocoa

I took a quick close-up picture of the Hourglass Modernist eyeshadow palettes and the warm neutral shades are all so beautiful! The mix of brown and taupe colors are very wearable and I just love how smoothly the colors all blend together without getting "muddy". The eyeshadows are all super soft and I found I only needed to gently tap each color with my brush to get enough color to then pack onto my eyelid.

The ambient lighting palette is something that's been on my wishlist for quite some time now! I had previously purchased the full-size powder in Radiant Light last year to use and it's since become my favorite blush to give me that soft, radiant glow! This palette comes with the shades Radiant Light, Incandescent Light, and Dim Light. The Incandescent Light shade is a limited-edition shade for this palette and I've found that it is the perfect undereye highlight! It keeps my concealer from creasing and really brightens up my undereye area where I seem to always have dark circles. I also applied the dim light shade as an all-over powder and found that it helped blur out my imperfections and gave my skin that air-brushed, flawless look!

Meanwhile, if any of you are in the Dallas area, BeautyCon is coming to our city for the first time! It'll be a great opportunity to learn more about what's happening in makeup, connect with brands, and meet with some well-known beauty influencers including Bethany Mota and Kandee Johnson to name a few! See the invite below for more info. I hope to see your pretty faces there!
