Medela x Ronald McDonald House of Dallas Donation Event

A couple weeks ago, I was so honored to be given the privilege to host a donation event with Medela at the Dallas Ronald McDonald House where two brand new, hospital-grade Symphony breast pumps were given to the local charity. The Medela Recycles program has such a special place in my heart as it joins together moms who are ending their breastfeeding journey with moms who are starting theirs. As I shared in my story, breastfeeding is such an emotional journey and I just love how Medela is partnering with the Ronald McDonald House charities to help ease the breastfeeding / pumping transition for new moms with babies in the NICU.

The event started off with a tour of the facility and I was impressed with the size of the Dallas location as well as just how many families it supports (over 60,000 sq. ft and 60 rooms!). The facilities were focused on making the everyday lives of those living there as warm, nurturing, and comfortable as possible. Not only were the rooms spacious and inviting, but there were also little personable details sprinkled throughout the house that really made it feel like home.

Handmade quilts donated from the Quilters Guild of Dallas were hung up on various walls, Pez dispensers donated from one man's personal collection decorated every room, and artwork created by Southwest Airlines employees were hung up to share love and happiness.

Following the tour, we had a little presentation where we actually presented the two Medela pumps to the Ronald McDonald House (second picture above) followed by a reception. There was also a New Mom's group that was meeting at the time and it was great to be able to share some stories over some delicious cupcakes!

There was also a playroom nearby, and Dylan was quick to find himself new favorite toys. :)

Thank you so much to Medela for letting me partner with you in the Medela Recycles program! If you're a mom who no longer needs your breast pump, please join in and donate your pumpp (free of charge!) back to Medela and help show your support for new breastfeeding moms! #MedelaRecycles!
