it feels like there is so much interesting stuff happening with fashion these days. we were sort of in a 90’s minimal haze for awhile there which was great but i’m ready to bring back the colors and textures. one of the things i’m excited about is embroidery in all of its many forms – on jeans, dresses, patches, cross stitch, you name it.

this trend in particular is a great one to shop vintage or thrift. it hasn’t hit mainstream consumption yet so it will still be available and accessible on sites like ebay and etsy. when shopping second hand always be open to a little altering, scoring a great piece for very little money means that you can spend a bit on having the hem taken up or the legs tapered, etc. the end result will be something you paid less for and fits you perfectly. here are a few of our favorite vintage pieces from around the web – duster jacket, floral wrap skirt, 70’s vintage dress, apple sweater, 60’s denim jacket, vest with knit sleeves and this rad dress.

one of my friends, hillary, owns a company called bliss and mischief where she reworks one of a kind vintage pieces with patches and embroidery. everything is so good.
