Black Kitchen Inspiration

Choosing to go with white for our kitchen was an easy decision. It had been on the wishlist for many years! I am however quite partial to a bit of black in the kitchen. Whether it's just a small area such as a splashback, or the whole area including cabinetry and benchtops, black can create drama and interest. If you're currently deciding on a new kitchen colour, these beauties may indeed beckon you over to the dark side!

Herringbone flooring and a touch of pink make this first kitchen one of my top picks.

The next three kitchens feature that winning combination of black, white and walnut. The black tiled splashback and minimalist clock are both simple yet striking features of the one below.

The addition of greenery and graphic floor tiles that make this next one a standout. How amazing is that glasshouse/room divider?

You've no doubt picked up on my current obsession with open shelves, such as those featured below. I'm getting some for the office and kidsrooms, but they also provide great display shelves in the kitchen.

Marble, a black mixer and apothecary bottles above make my heart sing, as do the double Tolomeo wall lamps below.

Speaking of lights, the Muuto Unfold Pendants look gorgeous in the black and concrete kitchen above.

Dark floors and black cabinetry above create a striking block colour effect, with the contrasting white walls.

I just had to include the amazing Vipp kitchen that I featured in this post. Taken from a different angle, behind the island this time, it shows the fabulous benchtop details and shelving.

To finish off, I've picked this kitchen because I absolutely love how the brick wall contrasts with the black cabinetry.

You may not hear from me tomorrow, as I'm juggling several blog-related projects and also working hard to get a Home Build bathroom post up before the week's out! I will still be posting regularly on Facebook and Instagram, so do keep in touch there.
