Let's have a natter

So I usually do these type of chatty posts on a Sunday but I thought I'd push the boat out and post one on a Monday. You know living on the wild side and all that. I feel like I haven't sat down and just typed for ages, in fact I probably have but I'm getting older and my memory is like a sieve these days. Most days I get Frankie and Henry mixed up and one of them is a dog, so there we go.

So January is over, the first month of 2015 done. That went quick didn't it? Did you have a good month? It was probably naive of me, and to be honest after being here 23 years, I should of realised that a new year doesn't automatically mean that loads of stuff is going to happen. In fact January was a bit disappointing, not much happened work wise, I just trudged on like it was any other month. However I am still hopeful that 2015 is going to be a good year, and even though I am no closer to having a house or a trip to NYC, I'm still being a positive Patricia.

Oh wait something exciting did happen in January. I hit 30,000 subscribers on YouTube, which was a bit mental. When I first started making YouTube videos, I never ever thought that 3 people would watch my videos never mind 30,000 people. I try to not think about it too much or I scare myself silly. Haha. I said to my Mum the other day that when I upload a video, I don't actually think people are watching them, I just put them live and well don't really think about what happens next. But yeah that was really cool, and I did get so excited that I squealed like a little pig when the counter hit 30,000. Frankie looked at me like wtf mum.

I liked this quote that I saw on Pinterest this month.
Talking of YouTube and stuff, recently I have been trying to up my editing game and some of you have been very nice to notice and say good things. So thank you! Over Christmas, I decided I wanted to stop watching videos and thinking ' oh I wish my videos looked like that' or 'I wish I could edit so good' as I thought, why can't I? I watched a ton of YouTube tutorials and though I'm still getting there, I'm a 100% happier with my editing and feel my content is getting better (well hopefully.) Because I am trying to put in more effort with my editing, it's taking me a bit longer to edit each video. I have discovered that I edit at the pace of a Grandma, hopefully this will get quicker one day, but for now, I am great Aunt Ethel on Final Cut Pro. I found in January, that I was getting a bit stressed trying to get everything live and although, I know that I am incredibly lucky that I work from home and that blogging and YouTube isn't the hardest of work, it would be nice to have a day off from the laptop where I don't have to think about blogging or editing. So I think for the time being, I'm going to go down to two videos a week instead of three. One will probably be a vlog and the other a main video which I can dedicate more time to editing. I hope this is okay, but I'd rather create two good videos than three mediocre ones.

I've also been looking at my blog and what I want from it. I don't want to just blog about beauty anymore as I have lots of other interests and I feel that blogs are becoming multi dimensional. They're all about a variety of subjects and content, and that's my favourite type of blog to read. I hope this is okay, so I've got a little content plan together and I'll be blogging about beauty (mainly) but also fashion, lifestyle, apps, music, food, etc... a bit of everything really. I also think this means you get to know me a bit better, not that I think you have to get to know me, but I think this just shows a bit more personality. But yeah, I'm excited to be writing about different things and I hope you'll like the content too :)

I'm trying to think if there's anything else that I need to talk about, I feel this post has been very me,me,me so apologies about that. But yeah nothing much has changed, but yeah there will be a few subtle changes with my content but nothing too drastic but just thought I'd let you know! Okay I'm going to go now, but I hope you're all well and had a good January, here's to a frightfully exciting February. Ha sorry I couldn't think of another F word.
