Beyonce is known for her savvy business head, so her Tshirt & sweater line, which boasts of a few words-slash-memes from her self-titled album, sit perfectly amongst this currently #hashtag crazy, tech-savvy world of #Yonce fans just as much as it does with the fashion circles.

Slogans are one of the most treading movements of this season, with one-liners – actually, more appropriately, one-worders – being at the height of the fads.

Making Beyonce’s, “Breakfast,” “Flawless,” “Angel” and of course the most mentioned on-line ‘surfboard’ on the top of the must-have list.

Wearing your thoughts on your sleeve works perfectly in with the street flavoured, sportswear styling of the season.

These shouty slogans are appearing on all basics, from slouchy tee’s, to oversized sweaters to crew-neck tops – all with one thing in common – they are simple enough not to distract from the words themselves. If you come across a design more flamboyant than the mentioned, then side step it and keep to your basics.

It’s true that we haven’t seen so much typography since the Eighties, but with the rise of hashtag/one-word announcements, came the fashionable followup of printed logo tees.

You can wear what you want when it comes to the words themselves… “Sunday Funday”, “Hello Petal”, “Creme De La Creme”, it all goes! But what doesn’t is head-to-toe lettering to billboards and body art. Kepp it simple in a single, subtle message and you’ll be right on track.
