in the lead up to Christmas i am going to share a few ideas for gifts for each other & the little ones. i’m new at this – so stay with me while i learn

in our house, we have a rule of thumb when it comes to gift giving – especially when it comes to the kids. for birthdays and Christmas we generally stick to: something they want, something they need, something to wear, something to read. we find this covers pretty much everything, and it means our gift giving does not get out of hand. the kids are so small & we want to set their expectations for the future, now. here’s to hoping it works!

want // our 4 yo boy is obsessed with the movie cars and his older cousin. It just so happens that big cousin C has a Finn McMissile that can “shoot”. I know, I know … this year it’s all about Planes … but not in this house!!

need // we’ve just moved the ‘big kids’ into the big kid room. the walls are bare and i’ve been searching around the web for some appropriate and awesome wall art. i love the robot art by Matt Q Spangler.

wear // do i need to say more? yellow is joey’s favourite colour, we’re coming into summer, we live at the beach.

read // iggy peck architect … highly recommended by pretty much all of our friends. it’s a definite!
