Summer Fun Gift Mini Album

Hey Echo Park friends and fans, Becki here. I am SO excited to share this fun and easy exploding box mini album.

First of all, I want to tell you that this is an EASY project. It looks complicated but its really not. I had so much fun creating this project. I started by cutting out the pieces using THIS cut file and the Summer Fun collection. There are only 4 die cut pieces to create this album. How cool is that?

After I had all the pieces cut, I printed my photos. The photos I printed are a few of my favorites from the Summer of 2016. You can add TON of photos to this album. If you wanted to add a photo to each page, you could have up to 24 photos. I have 12 photos in my album and still had room for lots of journaling and embellishments.

Here are a few tips I learned while creating this album. 1. Don't embellish the outside of the album until you've finished the inside. It's easier to complete the album when it's laying flat. 2. Use thin embellishments. I used a few pieces of chipboard but die cuts and stickers are a better choice for this album. 3. Use a very strong adhesive (liquid or redline tape work great!) This album is so fun and interactive, using a strong adhesive so it doesn't fall apart is a MUST!

I mixed a LOT of patterns and colors to create interest between the layers. Even though, I used 12x12 papers to cut out the pages of the album I used a lot of patterned papers from the 6x6 paper pad as layers behind the photos and journaling. The smaller scaled prints in the 6x6 paper pad are perfect for the details in this album.

Thank you for stopping by the Echo Park blog today. I hope you'll dive into the Summer Fun collection and create one of these fun exploding box mini albums.
