Petite-friendly favorites: sky blue coat + cotton tunic dress

A while back, I got a coat from Goodnight Macaroon in a beautiful sky blue color that was a great fit off the rack. I got compliments and inquiries at every turn, so was bummed that I found it late in the season and it was all sold out. I asked GM to please consider restocking - they couldn't bring back that winter one, but I'm thrilled to partner with them on this spring version, now available!

It's lighter in weight than the original cocoon one but is still a cold-weather coat (thicker than the ASOS grey wool topper that some of you also have). And instead of the cocoon drop-shoulder style, it's in a tailored structured-shoulder style that I'd usually gravitate more to. They sent this version to me to try on for fit, and I found it to be perfect with no alterations needed. It's a classic piece in a fresh color, so for anyone interested, I'd highly recommend picking it up before it sells out again!

Fit: I'm wearing a size XS, which is also labeled EUR 34 / US2 / UK6. For reference, it fits similar to my J.Crew lady day coats in 00 petite, with a few differences being: the shoulders of this one are a little more fitted, the sleeves are 2" longer, and the total length is marginally shorter. And compared to the very slim-fitting ASOS grey wool topper, it runs a little bigger than their US petite 0. There's quilted material lining the interior, a back vent (see more pics at the end of this post), and two functional front pockets.

Another piece I got from GM that I really loved is this tunic dress. I've seen similar variations from numerous different stores on other ladies - it must be a popular design and I'm not sure where the original is from. I can only speak to this variation from GM, which is 100% cotton and fully lined. It's comfortable and breezy with an elastic waist, which is perfect for a few of my upcoming trips as an easy-to-layer tourist dress. It also looks great casually with flats which I'll show soon. The crisp white cotton with navy print has a rustic but elegant appeal that makes me long for sunny days!
Fit: Please note this dress runs on the shorter side and is higher-waisted, which works nicely for petite women but may end up too short on someone taller. Measurements of an XS/ EUR 34 / US 2 / UK 6 is: 13.5" across the shoulders, elastic waist stretching from 13" up to 16" across, total length 29" and the skirt portion 16" long. The waist is 26" around so not a snug fit on me, but you can easily make it appear more fitted by adding a belt. Here's how the waist of the dress looks as-is, without a belt:

Going back to the blue coat - here's a few more angles and details...

Measurements of an XS: approximately 13 to 13.5" across the shoulders when measured from the back, 17" across the armpit, 16" arose the waist, 23.5" sleeve length, and 31" total length. Please note that there is a good weight to the fabric, so the actual fit is a little smaller than these exterior measurements. Material is 70% poly, 30% wool.

Here's how it looks buttoned up, although I usually wear it open:

Shipping & Return policy - they have a stringent policy, so I wanted to post all the details from their website on here for you guys. Please read before ordering: GM ships internationally from Asia, so packages could take about two weeks or more getting to the US. Shipping is $15 for orders below $150, and free for orders over that threshold. However, if you return items for an order that was over $150, a $15 fee will be deducted from the amount refunded, to account for the initial free shipping. Returns must be made within 21 days of receipt with the buyer responsible for return shipping costs; there is a US-based returns address listed on the website, so no need to ship back to Asia. Returns for store credit are not charged a processing fee, but returns back to the original means of payment are charged a 5% processing fee.
I always prefer to shop with free shipping, but despite the potential $15 fee here I think this coat is a great value for something that didn't require any alterations (which can be costly for outerwear). Please note the 25% off promo using code EXTRAPETITE ends on 3/31 - let me know if you have any questions or issues using it!
Thank you Goodnight Macaroon for partnering on this post!
