Be The Change Mixed Media Canvas (Faber Castell: Design Memory Craft)

Hello everyone! I'm Linsey and I'm thrilled to be sharing my very first guest design team project with you today! I had lots of fun creating this mixed media canvas board and it was so easy because all the different Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® products mix and match so beautifully together! Here's what I did--

First, I covered my canvas board with a layer of Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Gesso.

Next, I colored with a variety of Gelatos® Double Scoop® to create a colorful background with a beach and water feel, then spritzed the canvas with water and blended the color until I got the effect that I liked.

Now I wanted to add some sparkly texture to the "beach" with Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Glass Bead Glitter Gel and a fun multi-circles stencil.

I then colored with Raspberry Gelatos® Double Scoop® and spritzed a bit more water from the top of the canvas and let it drip down.

Next, I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of white tissue paper....

and adhered it down with a layer of Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Gel Medium, then another on top of the sentiment.

Now, I needed to add more texture and interest with some stamps. And did you know that the Stamper's Big Brush Pens work for stamping? They sure do! I used the Light Cobalt Turquoise (#154) PITT® Artist Pen below....

And also some stamping with black and white inks...

Then I finished with a sprinkle of clear hot glue dots, beads and sequins so the eye might gravitate toward the sentiment more.

Here is my completed canvas! I framed the piece with a little Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos® in Black Licorice, which sort of pulls together all of the elements within the canvas.
