Dior Cheek & Lip Glow

Tinted cheek and lip stains have been around for a while now and I’m still not 100% sure where I sit on these. Certainly not the type of products I use on a daily basis, but when I tested this at the counter on the back of my hand I loved how beautiful the glow was and decided it was meant to be!

However I really think this needs to be worn in a very specific way otherwise you’re going to have the same issues I experienced, patches of missing foundation You can actually see it in the last photo above, where I’ve applied the product I’ve rubbed off most of my foundation.

The makeup artist I spoke to recommended I use my fingers to apply this to my cheeks, and when I did on a face with foundation I found that it actually rubbed off most of my foundation Not a great experience. Especially if your foundation shade is quite different to your skin colour underneath. My cheeks ended up look rather patchy so I would not recommend this technique if you prefer to wear foundation underneath. If you want to use your fingers, then go barefaced.

Alternatively you could consider using a sponge instead. I placed the product on to a dry sponge, and then patted it on my cheeks. I found that technique worked a lot better, and there was minimal shifting of my foundation. Which makes this a little less convenient to use unless you’re at home.

However the results are beautiful! The product straight out of the bottle does appear pretty pigmented, but once you’ve blended it out the result is very subtle and has that beautiful soft glow from within!

Personally I’m not a fan of the application process at all, which is part of why this product doesn’t get used as much as I’d like to. But the results are too good for me to let this product go! I honestly don’t feel like I can give much of a recommendation either way, just because the application process is a bit of a draw back. If you’re considering this product, think about how you use makeup and whether this is something you could incorporate into your daily routine.
