A Quiet Walk with my Husband

We buried my grandmother today - January 3, 2013
My husband is a pastor and officiated the service and it was so lovely. But we are tired and worn. It was cold and very sunny when we returned home so I suggested a walk. My camera comes along on walks and hikes so I can learn how to use it!
There is a ramshackle railroad close to our home so that was our destination.

Heading down the tracks was therapeutic as we talked and had some quiet moments along the way.
My husband is a good help-mate in many ways but today he carried my camera bag and showed me the places he likes to take the neighbor kids on night walks. They take flashlights and have a blast spooking each other. Can you see why this spot provides for fun at night?

An old, abandoned trailer car with interesting features.

Even the clunky, old metal has a certain charm to it.

My self-challenged was to lower the F stop and create a detailed foreground and a slightly out-of-focus train car. I would have liked a little more blur, but hey, I'm still new.

So my helpful, loving hubby and I headed home and napped before our very energetic girl came home from school. Guess where my husband and the kids are now, as I type? You got it!
You may find me linked to any one of these places and spaces!
