Monday Musings

Hello friends – I hope you all had a wonderful weekend… just a few Monday Musings tidbits to share

1. I finally got a chance to sit down and pick winners from the Honest Fizz Giveaway – Congratulations to Jody (@Truth2BeingFit) and David (@1froglegs) – check your emails. And if you didn’t get a chance to read my review of this yummy fizzy drink – go check it out.

2. Workouts this weekend – I went for a walk on Saturday morning with my friend, last weekend we went over 4 miles, but this time we got cut short by delivery guys that were early arriving to my house – what’s up with that? I know I shouldn’t complain, but I specifically left early for a walk and then they were early. On Sunday, I got up early so that I could get in a run before spending the morning at Family Education Day at Sunday school with my son. 4 miles at 7 am, home by 8:15 and got my sweaty self to hang out with the other families. And, I was proud of my #wycwyc moment when I packed my own snacks for the morning instead of grabbing a nutritionally empty bagel.

3. Running this week – I’m also proud to say that I fit in 3 runs this week! That’s always a goal of mine and yet it doesn’t seem to happen. But, I did it this week and manged to get over 10 miles of running. So far so good on foot pain and time commitment. Nice balance.

4. Meal planning – I typically do my grocery shopping on Sundays – I find it very hard to plan out more than 2 meals for the week. I know I could easily sit down and plan out more, but I just can’t do it. So, I’m taking it as a win that I even plan 2 and then lunches for the week. It’s a good start, right?

5. I’m still taking advantage of a little extra sleep in the mornings and skipping my early morning workouts. I’m making sure to get in more walking time at lunch, but I do think I need to get back to it soon. Maybe I’ll start with a baby step of 1 morning a week and just do strength training. I need to get back to that.

6. Back to that delivery that interrupted my walk – we got a new mattress and I’m so excited because it was way overdue and I was starting to wake up with aches and pains. Well, the new mattress is a little taller than the old one and Petey can no longer jump on the bed. So, we got him some pet stairs and my son spent time this weekend teaching him to go up. Lots and lots of treats later, he seems to be getting the hang of it. YAY!

6. It’s almost time for the May edition of the Ultimate Coffee Date - next Saturday – join in, it’s lots of fun. Also coming up this week is the April Book Club. And, on Saturday, I’ll be going to the Wanderlust 108 – The World’s Kindest Triathlon – I’m so excited to join Melissa for a 5K (walk for us because she’s injured) and then an afternoon of yoga on the Santa Monica Pier.
