#OOTD: What Would You Do?

Tyler and I went to dinner last night. It was a new restaurant in the neighborhood and the reviews looked promising. Service was good, food was fresh and the variety was awesome. I ordered my favorite meal, but it didn’t quite measure up. I wouldn’t say I’m a connoisseur of this particular dish, but I eat a lot of it and I’d like to think that I cook a pretty good version of it. Anyway, my order was SO bland. It wasn’t a new school take on the traditional dish, it just tasted watered down. There was something not right about it. Usually, I keep these comments to myself (and whoever I’m eating with) because I’m too big of a baby to say anything and who knows what they’ll do to my dessert! We were finishing up and the waiter asked if I’d like a to-go box. I said no thank you. “What’s wrong with it?” she asked. Hesitantly, I croaked “…it’s a little bland.” She was just as surprised as I was at what came out of my mouth. I felt like such a jerk. If she had asked if everything was OK, I could have just said yes and we’d all be on our merry little way. A part of me wishes that I just got the to-go box and left. The whole time I was waiting for John Quinones to come out and tell me it was all part of a TV show and that our meal was paid for. That did not happen.
