The pork belly sandwich aka banh mi. So good.
You may proceed directly to my mouth.
Nothing much to report on this tuna sandwich besides that it was… Nice but not amazing.
Lucky Pickle is a tiny little sandwich place on a back street in Surry Hills. Opened by Arash Katrak and with the help of his partner Anna Berry, Lucky Pickle serves lucky Surry Hills workers (they’re not open on weekends) with tasty, tasty sandwiches.
The pork belly bánh mì is like a fancy pork roll with their homemade duck liver pâté, pickled carrot and daikon, cucumber, coriander, mayo and sambal. One taste of this bad boy and you can see why they usually run out of this well before their 3pm close time.
The tuna sandwich was pretty standard – just a tuna sandwich really. However I’m kicking myself for not getting the katsu sandwich because they were one of my favourite snacks when I lived in Japan. That’s definitely a next time thing if I can ever make it there on a weekday.
They’re cash only, so make sure you bring your $10. Oh, and try to get there early because once they sell out of their sandwiches, that’s it for the day.
Address: Shop 3, 509-511 Crown St, Surry Hills NSW 2010
Opening hours: Weekdays only 10.30am to 3.00pm
