TiFF’s Best Micro-Budget Feature: Unhappy Happy

There are a million stories about cancer; the loss, the pain, the way lives are turned upside down when it infects someone near and dear to you. When I first read the script for Unhappy Happy, I knew it was going to be a fun project to work on. I was in only two scenes but I was privileged to know the whole story going into the one day of filming I would be called into.

I’ve said it before, but I was extremely proud to have been part of this project before any announcements related to TOIndieFF came about. The one day I spent on set went smoothly. Everyone seemed to be on the same page, and had the same goals in mind. There was never any need for anyone to crack the whip, nor be in a bad mood1. I can only hope that every production I work with in the future is just like this one2.

To Rob and the cast and crew of Unhappy Happy:

Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your production and congratulations. We should all be proud of what we have accomplished and here is to many, many more acknowledgements to come.

For those who missed Unhappy Happy at TOIndieFF, don’t you worry I’m sure we’ll be able to figure out a screening very soon!

Footnotes:
  1. unless the script called for it of course
  2. I know it will not be, but I can hope because if you do not have hope you might as well just die
