10 Minute No Bake Chocolate Shell Valentine’s Dessert

Anytime I invite guests over I want to present something creative that will easily impress everyone. The problem is that I seem to always be on a time crunch. It would be a dream of mine to trap myself at home for hours on end experimenting with different ideas and think up creative concoctions. That dream will just have to wait. The reality is, like most of us I spend my day running around like a crazy person, between work, working out, family, and a million other things, my creative ideas happen while I’m driving and chatting on the phone with a friend (hands-free mobile device of course!). This chocolate cup idea was adapted from a friend’s recollection of a dessert she had many years ago. Thanks for brainstorming with me Shana! Amazingly this dessert looks as if it took many hours to bake, when in fact, you don’t have to touch the oven at all! You can bake if you want to, but I cheated and used the microwave a few store bought items. Read below to see what I did.

You will need:

1 microwave safe bowl to melt the chocolate chips 1 bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips A few disposable coffee cups (more or less depending on how many cups you want to make. You might need more bags if you are making more cups) You will fill your cups with whatever your heart desires 1 pastry brush (this is for speeding the chocolate inside the disposable cups). You don’t need this, but it makes it so much easier to spread. You can actually use a knife or spoon to place the chocolate into the cup.
Directions: place your semi-sweet chocolate chips in a small microwave safe bowl. Melt the chocolate chips a 30 second intervals in the microwave. Stir the chocolate between intervals. Once melted it is ready to spread into your disposable cups.
Use the pastry brush to spread the chocolate inside the disposable cup. You don’t need to spread all the way to the top. After your first coat place into the refrigerator for a couple minutes, then repeat until you have 2 to 3 layers. Keep in fridge until the chocolate hardens. Once the chocolate is hardened cut a slit into the coffee cup and carefully remove the cup by tearing it away from the chocolate. I used store bought cupcakes and pies to fill mine. You can obviously make your own dessert to stuff the chocolate shells. You can fill these with just about anything, the ideas are endless!
