When it Rains Through Your Shoes.

We have some rowdy weather over here you guys. It's so unpredictable and every day is different. Yesterday for instance, was sunny and dry. But the day before that it was dumping. Like God was lit'rally dumping buckets of water on me. It was the kind of rain that soaks through your shoes when you forget to wear rubber boots instead of suede booties with no socks.

Anyway, it reminded me of a day I spent with my electric scooter at the unfortunate age of about ten. My dear ol' Scoot usually sat parked in the shed outside our house through the Winter, but one rainy day sparked an idea in me:

Put on all your swooshy clothes and go for a ride.

So there's ten-year-old me in my matchy-matchy swooshy "track" suit (tellll me you had one of these too #90skid) wearing my helmet OVER my hood, zipping up and down our cul-de-sac with the rain on my face... I remember just feeling so free. It was the first and only time that the rain didn't inconvenience me, simply because I was dressed for it. No, like literally head-to-toe covered in clothes meant for nothing but repelling water. I think I even closed my eyes at one point during that scooter ride because I ended up crashing and falling into puddle with a current, and then walking my scooter all the way back home with tears/rain drops streaming down my face. But inside--beneath all the scrapes and all the wet-- I was smiling.

The end.
