A New Sofa For the Living Room (FROM THE RIGHT BANK)

Good morning, friends, happy February and happy Groundhog Day!

First things first, thank you so much for your comments and emails in response to my last post. It’s not always the easiest thing to share online so I really appreciate hearing from you and for your support.

The living room currently.

As I mentioned in that post, as a part of my big overhaul this year, I am finally doing all the things to get the house exactly how I want. No more compromises. And I’m starting with the living room. Overall, I’ve been pretty happy with it and in fact, even a few months ago, I would have said it was the most finished of all the rooms in the house. It’s been one of my favorite spots in the house to relax, browse design books and entertain guests.

But the one thing it really needs is a more substantial sofa that is big enough to balance out the other pieces in the room. I’ve known this for a long time but I wouldn’t allow myself to get one because I thought I should make do with what I had. I would tell myself that it was good enough.

Well, no more. I’m giving myself permission to get that sofa that is just right for the space and it just so happens that the one I have talked about for over five years (five years!) fits the bill perfectly: the English Roll Arm…..

I first blogged about how this is the perfect sofa here and then again here. After all these years, it’s still my favorite style and since it’s exactly what the living room needs, it’s a no-brainer.

But I’m pretty sure I’m going to stick with blue…..

I’m also considering lavender but will probably chicken out…..

I have decided on the model though. This one from Lee Industries…..

I’ve sent away for fabric samples so I’ll keep you posted on what I decide! So excited!
