Getting Beach Ready…Is It Summer Yet?
I hate Chicago winters so much, that to me- even spring here still feels like winter. In my mind, spring is just the ramp up to summer and summer means warm weather, fabulous drinks, sunshine, and lots of outdoor activity to make enduring a midwest winter somewhat worth it.
I love, love, love spending time at the water. In Chicago, we can sail, go to the dog beach, or have a gorgeous picnic along the coast of Lake Michigan. The lake is so big, you can’t see the other side, so I feel safe to call it a beach. IT’S A BEACH. As a former Californian, that is my vote. Deal with it, snobby west coasters!
Matilda is ready for beach weather too. For now, she has a new dress and frog toy- but I will be buying her some beach appropriate toys that float. I don’t know if she’ll swim- we will get to find out! I’ve also added some nautical decor. If summer isn’t outside just yet, it will be inside if I can help it!
