Nearing Winter a poem by Adam Gallagher
Cascading golds and ember upon thy head leaves surrender, shake and shed a playing boy by a brook once said "we're nearing winter again"
Light beams bend through the shutters a zephyr's rage forging a clutter gazing out the window, a woman uttered "we're nearing winter again"
Mountains brace, vast and tall the first to tremble upon snow fall hikers and hunters agreeably call "we're nearing winter again"
knitting and sewing, weathered hands quiver shivery grandchildren dance by the river raising her head, grandmother whispers "we're nearing winter again"
