NY Men’s Day FW15

Hey Guys! quick update from Fashion week! I told myself I was going to take a break this season but somehow it lured me in last minute like a bug to a lightbulb. The first couple days are always exciting for menswear because that’s when they showcase most of the shows. Firing off the season was New york Men’s Day which hosts about 10 designers, all with different aesthetics. Nick and I hopped between Ernest Alexander, to Timo Weiland, Carlos Campos, my favorite, Garcia Valez and more. My style over the years has toned down a lot so I took to liking the more wearable, neutral collections. Per usual there was a lot of navy’s, grey’s and black but it would’ve been nice to see more camel, or muted browns. I’m biased though because I’m having a 70s moment.

When we hire our new Fashion editor (end of month) He/she will be covering a lot of stuff like this. Fashion week, trends, trend forecasting, colors, models etc. all to do with menswear. Someone asked me today if I would consider reporting womenswear since it’s 70 percent of the industry but here’s the thing- the menswear market is growing very, very rapidly and there’s also just not enough websites that speak in a personal tone. Sure you have Hypebeast, Selectism and big publications like GQ or Details etc. but I want to be at the forefront of ‘Menswear with a personal, and unique voice’ So the foundation of many articles to come with be solely based on opinion or thought. It won’t be filtered through a corperate chain or approved by 3 different boss’s, it will be honest and raw. It will be GALLA. Would love to hear some feedback on that so fire away!

Oh ps. So excited this is my last day trekking to the shows in the cold. Tomorrow I head west for pre-oscar, campaign Hollywood week in LA! Big thanks to Chrysler for teaming up with me! Cant wait to show you what we have in the works…
