Dermalogica BioSurface Peel Review

I have always steered clear of chemical peels for some reasons. Heck most advanced facials at salons don't suit my skin. What I am scarred of is irreversible damage to the skin, scars or even something as minor as a breakout. However, when Dermalogica just recently introduced their BioSurface Peel facial, it actually made me take off my cynical cap for a bit and take notice.
What is Dermalogica BioSurface Peel?
What surprised me the most was that they don't deny it's a chemical peel but still claiming it to be suitable for sensitive skin. Say what? Apparently, unlike regular chemical peels, Dermalogica BioSurface Peel contains a mix of acids and enzymes.
There is a lot of emphasis on layering the ingredients depending on your skin type and increasing/decreasing intensity of product to achieve a certain result. Sounds like something that should already exist but trust me, I've browsed through pages of chemical peels and never come across a similar one.
I personally only went through 2 layers of the acids being applied to my skin as I consider it to be moderately sensitive. It only left my skin slightly flushed at the end of the session and with no other side effects. If your skin isn't sensitive and you are looking to fade hyperpigentation, photo damage and acne scars for instance, your therapist can apply up to 5 layers for quicker results.
Dermalogica BioSurface Peel Results
The results in terms of clarity, brightness and the 'HD' quality of the skin if you may, seemed great. I have never seen this glow on my skin and the brilliance with which it gently exfoliated is praiseworthy. Although I exfoliate regularly using glycolic, salicylic and lactic acid - Dermalogica BioSurface Peel did a lovely job at accelerating the entire process of evening out skin tone, which can usually take a few months. I felt it helped fade blemish marks, uneven skintone and treat skin congestion in just one session to quite an extent.
Usually not a fan of facials and skin peels, Dermalogica BioSurface Peel deserved a review for it's potent effect, kind-to-skin formula and a results driven approach. I loved the BioSurface Peel products so much that I really wouldn't mind having them in my skincare kit but they are only available for salon use, although you should be able to purchase an after care kit by the range to extend the effects of the facial.
