Jo Malone Wild Fig & Cassis Cologne.

I’ve always had a thing for fig scents, there’s just something so enchanting about that earthy, fruity fragrance. The latest addition to my league of figgy cosmetics is a Jo Malone Cologne I’ve been after for months now…

Jo Malone Wild Fig & Cassis (£42 / £82) captures just the right amount of fruitiness with this delicious spritz. The layers of juicy, sun-warmed figs against woody pine and a base note of musk create a sensual concoction that is perfect worn day or night, throughout the seasons.
As much as I love floral scents, especially for summer, sometimes I do find them sickly sweet and a little young for me. This is when I opt for fruity fragrances that are balanced out with woody, almost masculine notes.

The warm scent always smells a little sweet at first, not entirely overpowering but it’s much more noticeable as soon as it hits the skin – after a few minutes, I find it softens a little, becoming more of a personal scent rather than an obvious waft of perfume. It’s kind of effortless in a way, I love the way it’s played down and more natural, unique.
This is definitely one for the fig lover – if you love lathering up in the Korres Fig Shower Gel or burning the Diptyque Figuier Candle, you’re in for a treat with this luxe pick.

Something about the warm, woody fragrance makes me think I’ll still be opting for this come winter, although I’m not entirely sure as there’s some scents (I’m looking at you, Pomegranate Noir) I tend to only like in one season. I’ll keep you posted…

Have you tried Wild Fig & Cassis? Any recommendations on which scents this works well layered up with?
