The Spring Lip Lineup.

If you haven’t already noticed, I’m completely obsessed with these new Clinique Colour Pop Lip Colour Primer Lipsticks (£16) – in fact, I hope you guys truly appreciate this post as I had to go in to every coat pocket, every handbag and drawer of makeup storage to find the shades as I have them stashed everywhere.

I have already swatched a few standout shades in this post, but I wanted to (post some swoon-worthy makeup snaps that I can look at for hours) round up my Spring shades and also tell you about a competition Clinique are running at the moment – scroll down to the bottom of the post for that.
The colours are super pigmented; even the nude hues and subtles pinks add a dreamy pop of colour to the lips. The formula is deeply nourishing, and there’s a light gloss to the lips once applied – probably more satin than true gloss, and you can blot this off a little to make them more matte. I love how wearable they are, you can slick them on and go – no real need for lip liner or lip prep, so they’re ideal for minimal girls like myself.
It’s also worth mentioning that the shades last all day, thanks to the primer part of the formula. I sometimes top up with a bit of lip balm if I feel I need it, but the colour is noticeably long-wearing.

My favourite shades are Nude Pop, a chic everyday hue that is sophisticated yet fun, Poppy Pop, a gorgeous watermelon red that is the juiciest pick for Spring, and Melon Pop, a mesmerising coral that is just so “me”. I have to say, I would easily wear every shade in the range – of which there are 16 (I have a double of Nude Pop that I couldn’t bear to give up… cheeky!) – as they’re all so workable throughout the seasons.
