Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliners in Nude, Black & Taupe Review

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliners in Nude, Black & Taupe 0.04 Oz, $3.59
Eyeliner, it hasn't been discussed here in a while. Likely due to the lack of anything remotely impressive since the Anastasia Covet ones. When I discover a nude waterline pencil that beats the rest, I need to tell the world about it. From the drugstore no less. It has been repurchased by me too many times to count and I now own 2 other shades from this Rimmel Scandal Eyes line, so I believe that undoubtedly warrants a full review, don't you? Now lets see what Rimmel has to say about these.
Here's how they are described: "Long lasting, high intensity color. Ultra smooth, creamy formula that glides on easily." They also make big claims stating that these liners are "waterproof, smudge proof sweat proof, heat proof and humidity proof".
Do I agree with all of that? Keep reading to find out!

Formulation: These eyeliners are super smooth and creamy, so they go on really easily without irritating the eyes at all. The can be sharpened with any typical eye pencil sharpener and do not dry out at all even without their caps on for months at a time.

The Price: I can get these for less then $4 at many drugstores and online shops so obviously the cost is fantastic! They do need to be sharpened fairly often and run out quickly, but regardless it still won't cost you what a high end liner would.

Color Variations: These are available in 10 different shades on the Rimmel website but I honestly never see a huge selection of colors when I'm at the drugstore. Whether that is because they are so popular that they sell out or because the drugstores don't get a Rimmel shipment very often, I do not know. Either way, the teal blue and peacock purple shades are ones I'd love to get my hands on.
The Packaging: Typical. There isn't anything special about the way these look in comparison to other liners. I do like the silver writing clearly stating the brands name and color, but otherwise really nothing special there.

Color Payoff & Lasting Power: With just one swipe you get a perfectly lined eye and will not find it patching off in certain areas like many eyeliners do as they are applied. This means application is totally fuss free and as simple as it gets. I find that the longevity of these liners once applied to the eye really depends on where it is being put on from color to color. The nude one is the one I've been most impressed with on the waterline as it can give me 6-8 hours easily without moving around at all. The black one on the other hand does not last well at all on the waterline but does stay put nicely on the upper lid. As for the taupe one, it isn't a good eyeliner shade at all so I use it on my brows and it stays put there all day long.

Overall: I really love the Nude shade and have purchased it several times since discovering it. It gives the eye a wide awake look without being too dramatic like a white pencil can be at times. The other two are just okay in comparison to other liners I already own. What really sets these pencils apart is how creamy they are, which has them gliding on really easily and makes them great for smudging out for a smokey eye as well. I think that for just under $4 you cannot go wrong trying these.

Have you given any of these liners a try? If you have, what did you think of them? If you haven't do you want to?
