Baby Bear Hat [knitting pattern]

When it comes to baby clothes and accessories I can't resist anything animal-related! To save time and make this project beginner friendly I hand sewed the bear face on instead of going the Intarsia route. Hope you like it!
Supplies:
Lion's Pride Woolspun yarn in Coffee (1 skein)
Size 10 1/2 US knitting needles
Large pom pom maker
Black, white, tan felt
Needle & thread
Pattern:
Circumference of hat: 16 inches (age 6-9 months)
Cast on 44 stitches. Work in K1 P1 ribbing for 1 1/2 inches. Switch to stockinette stitch and work until piece measures 7 inches from the beginning. To shape crown-
Knit 2 together, repeat across row
Next row: Purl
Next row: K1, K2 together across row

Cut yarn, leaving an 8 in. tail. Thread tail through stitches of last row and pull to secure. Use the tail to sew the side seam together.

(Make 2 pom poms using the pom pom maker)

(Attach the pom poms to the top sides of the hat)

(Cut the snout, nose and eyes out of felt)

(Hand stitch the snout and nose to the hat, with the lower part hidden under the flap)

(Hand sew the eyes in place)
