In honor of Halloween i’m sharing one of my absolute favorite creamy, dreamy, and decadent recipes: Spiced Dark-Chocolate Skulls.
1 cup of cocoa butter
1 cup of organic dutch process cocoa powder
½ cup raw honey, or maple syrup (Vegan)
1 teaspoon of real vanilla extract
1½ tbs. minced candied ginger
1 tsp. freshly grated or ground cinnamon
2 tsp. cayenne pepper
Skull Chocolate Molds
1. Melt cocoa butter in a double boiler or a glass bowl on top of a small pan with an inch of water (make sure water isn’t touching bowl) over medium heat.
2. When cocoa butter is completely melted, remove from heat and add cocoa powder, honey, vanilla extract, minced candied ginger, ground cinnamon, cayenne pepper powder. Mix, and make sure all ingredients are well incorporated and smooth
3. Pour the chocolate in to skull chocolate molds. Let harden for several hours at room temperature – once cooled remove chocolate from molds. *Note: you can also place skull chocolate molds in the fridge to harden more quickly.
