How I wore it: Elevation Polish Shilin Stone Forest

I guess you didn’t realize or pay much attention, but I changed my blog design. Tons of people change their blog design every day and write whole blogs about changing their blog design daily. As of today, I’m not sure that this was the right choice, but due to the fact that I forgot what my previous blog design was called, I can’t change back anymore.

Apparently I really don’t pay enough attention to these things; which is odd, because I think I can tell you every little store located at Graz Hauptbahnhof (the main railway station of Graz), or I can tell you what my latest client wore down to the shoes. How my brain thinks this would be valuable information amazes me and leaves me filled with wonder.

Anyhow, I changed my blog design. I think I should rather have payed more attention to changing nail polishes, because I’m substantially better at that. Like check out this pretty specimen: originating from Elevation Polish, circa 2014, named Shilin Stone Forest.

I’ve been stalking the latest restocks in August, because I didn’t want to miss this pretty shade, and I’ve actually managed to snag this one before everything was sold out (which usually happens within a minute or two). It is a soft grey shade with dark grey flakes and holographic glitters.

I have a weakness for grey shades, and I have a weakness for these polishes that look like stone, so this polish was a must for me. If you have followed me a bit longer than today, you might have realized that it takes sometime for me to warm up to something, and so it appears that I’m one of the last people to jump onto the Oh my god I loooooove Elevation Polish” bandwagon. I do however have more than warmed up to the pretty elevations.

In terms of nail polish, there are steps toward craziness. It is not like there’s a limit for pretty colors, because once you have too many, you’ll have forgotten about the ones you own, and hence you can’t make a decision when a new collection launches, because, well, you have to have them all (and clearly no color like this has EVER been made before!). It’s really difficult to get out of this rat race.

But what are these steps towards craziness? First of all, you can be indifferent towards nail polish. Then you can say you prefer natural nails. Then you’ll paint your toe nails. Then occasionally (but only for important occasions) you’ll paint your finger nails. Then you only wear nude. Then you vary your ‘only nude’ manicures to red, sometimes. Either you stop here, or you have lost: Quickly you’ll add black (so elegant!) and pink (sometimes I just feel girly, or red doesn’t fit). Then Chanel and Dior and whatnot show their winter collections: gold, silver, bronze, vampy shimmery reds, maybe a dark blue. And in summer, I promise you, you’ll be stuck in the spider’s web, and you’ll also wear yellow, mint, pastel lilac, pink and next year, you’ll be all neons.

Now, I can tell you that I’ve skipped this process entirely, but the same domino effect happened to me when I found indies. And the same happened to me again when I was playing around with possible blog designs. Unfortunately I have substantially less of a laissez-fair attitude towards my blog design as in comparison to my excessive nail polish collection and I don’t know what to do. Do you even like it? What do you think I should do, keep this design and maybe just learn how to make it better? What would you change, if you were me?
