big scarf, big news

(no, I'm not pregnant)

Who is ready for 2015?! Me memeemememmeeeee! I'm not sure if you follow my Instagram (what?! why?!), but I recently announced something huge. Well, it's pretty huge to me. For the last month or more I felt like I've been lying. Every time I share anything on my blog, I feel like it should be this. All of the hard times I've mentioned, struggles, it was all leading to this.
I am trying to figure out how to share the unfortunate reasons behind my departure, but for now, the big news is that I resigned from my current district, where I was the math instructional specialist. I started teaching there in 2006 before becoming the specialist in 2010. The decision took a lot of thought and a lot of tears. This school has been my home for the last 8.5 years. My co-workers are like my family, and a lot of them are really good friends. This is the only school I've ever known, but my circumstances pointed to change.
I accepted a job offer that is going to be really exciting. I'll still be teaching math, but online, along with a few other duties - from home! I'm not sure what the schedule is going to be like exactly, but the challenge is going to be fun, and I've rediscovered how much I love to learn. After much research, I have realized that my workout/eating schedule will need to be on point! I will not gain 50 pounds, no siree. :)
Challenge accepted! And not to sound completely cheese-ball-tastic, but 2015 is going to be about new beginnings! I'm over you, 2014!!

Do you have any similar experiences? Have you ever left a job after many years and friendships? I'm excited for my new experiences, challenges, and routines, but I could use some advice. :)
