Wood Wood – Hero, Heroine, Heroin

Fondato nel 2002, WOOD WOOD è un brand di Copenhagen con un approccio unico al fashion, che combina elementi street e di lusso creando un’estetica del tutto personale. La tshirt nera con la frase “Hero, Heorine, Heroin” in bianco che indosso in questo outfit fa parte della collezione Autunno/Inverno 2014 “Heroes” ispirata a tutti quegli artisti che non ci sono più a causa di una dipendenza.

Il gioco di parole che trasforma il termine “eroe” nel vocabolo “eroina” (una delle dipendenze più letali dei nostri ultimi anni) ha un effetto efficace, che ben fa comprendere il senso di come grandissimi stelle del panorama artistico, che in tanti hanno sempre visto come miti inarrivabili, in realtà fossero persone “comuni” con problemi così grandi da non riuscire a trovare una via d’uscita se non in comportamenti autodistruttivi.

Insieme alla tshirt ho deciso di indossare la Type II Jacket di Levi’s, la giacca in denim rigido con due tasche sul petto che nel 1953 divenne la divisa non ufficiale dei lavoratori; i pantaloni in tweed sui toni del marrone (riprendendo le cuciture della giacca) di Promod e le sneakers in pelle nera e zip laterali di Cinzia Araia. Come accessorio ho scelto un beanie di H&M sui toni del rosso.

The black tshirt with bold “Hero, Heorine, Heroin” in white that I wear this outfit is part of Fall/Winter 2014 “Heroes” collection, inspired by all those artists lost for an addiction.

The word game that turns the term “hero” in the word “heroin” (one of the most deadly addiction of our recent years) has an effective impact, that makes sense to understand how great stars of the art scene, always seen as unattainable myths, were “ordinary” people with problems so large that they couldn’t find a way out except in self-destructive behaviors.

I decided to wear with the tshirt the Levi’s Type II Jacket, the denim drive jacket with two breast pockets that in 1953 became the unofficial uniform of the worker men; tweed pants in shades of brown (like the seams of the jacket) by Promod and sneakers in black leather and zip side by Cinzia Araia. As an accessory I chose a beanie by H&M in shades of red.
