Colorful Country Chic

I’ve spent many of these cold winter days finally cleaning out the stacks of magazines in my apartment. While leafing through an old issue of UK Vogue, I came across the beautiful home of Jemma Kidd and her family. It was also featured in Elle Decor. The 18th-century house in Hampshire is on the property of Jemma’s husband Arthur Wellesley’s family home. Arthur who is also the Earl of Mornington is heir to the Duke of Wellington so the house contains many historical pieces. But it was decorator Penny Morrison who turned the interiors into a colorful and comfortable family home while landscape designer Miranda Brooks is currently working on the garden.

I always wonder if the beautiful colors in English homes are a way to counteract the rainy weather. What ever the reason, it works perfectly. Jemma is also designing a line of chic pajamas and with a house this beautiful, I don’t blame her.
