New York Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2013: Mara Hoffman

Nick Irwin created new-age hair for the Mara Hoffman Autumn/Winter 2013 show at New York Fashion Week.
Show: Mara Hoffman
Stylist: Nick Irwin and the TIGI team
The inspiration: "Mystics and misfits," said Nick. The dual textures within the hair were inspired by the sumptuous fabrics within the collection.
The look: Dual-textured hair topped off with a headpiece.
Get the look: Hair extensions were added to create long, gypsy-inspired hair - most models had lengths that reached the bottom of the spine.
Hair was then styled in a centre parting and smoothed down to fit the shape of the head using TIGI Catwalk Session Series Styling Cream.
Front sections were then tucked behind the ears, with each section twisted in to the back of the head using Catwalk Curlesque Strong Mousse.
These rope-like twists were then clipped in place and set under heat. Hair was the finished with Catwalk Your Highness Shine Spray on top to smooth down any static. Before the models walked, clips were removed and the 'ropes' were pulled apart slightly to create a faux-dread look.
Chains were then added on top, attached at the ears.
Key products: TIGI Catwalk Session Series Styling Cream, Catwalk Curlesque Strong Mousse, Catwalk Your Highness Shine Spray
