Your Wardrobe Staples From a Polished, Chic & Ladylike Perspective

Hi, my dear friends! You probably have noticed that I changed my blog pages in several ways, in hopes that it will be more useful and attractive for you. I set up a section which you can write to me directly, about all kinds of questions. Thank you to Amy Joe, who wrote me few days ago using this section. Normally, I would just answer the questions by replying directly to her question, but I think her questions are so good that I decided to write a blog post about it.

Amy wrote:

I have just discovered your website and I have to say that I am obsessed with your style. I adore the ladylike style that you have! I find your outfits are polished yet practical and versatile. I also like that you mix high end designers with more accessible style from the likes of ASOS. I have a few questions for you:
1. What are the items you believe every closet should have in them? (wardrobe staples from a polished, chic and ladylike perspectives).
2. Are you able to include in your posts a seasonal trend edit from your perspective, and what to buy and why?

My answer for questions 1:

1.The first item that pops into my mind is a white button down shirt. It shouldn’t be tight; I personally hate to wear those very tight fitting shirts (unless you are required to wear uniform). I find having my chest “bound up” by a tight shirt can be distracting and uncomfortable — and comfort is important, even when you like to be stylish! (see how I styled a white button-down shirt 1, 2, 3)

2. A pair of heeled nude pumps. You will find out how flexible they can be to wear with almost any outfit, with jeans, skirt, dress. Find a pair that matches your skin tone, and if your toe area are not wide, “pointed-toe” will look much nicer and modern than round toes. ((see how I styled a pair of nude pumps 1, 2, 3)

3. Striped top. Besides a good white button-down shirt, I found that a striped top can be worn whenever I discover “there is nothing to wear” in my closet — vacation, weekend, event, even a date by choosing a trendy “off-the-shoulder” style. (see how I styled a striped top 1, 2, 3)

4. A good quality “right size” clutch. I personally like to invest money on a good statement bag or shoes — they will last for years, and make every outfit special. And sometimes, I have found, the wrong bag can damage your whole look. I recently got this Chanel wallet through TheRealReal, and found it’s such a good size for me for holding all things I need when go out for any event or a date. I even put my phone inside. (see how I styled the wallet size clutch 1, 2, 3)

I will write another blog post about Amy’s question 2. “Are you able to include in your posts a seasonal trend edit from your perspective, and what to buy and why?”

Stay tuned, and thank you very much for your visiting today. See ya soon!
