OUR WEDDING

I’m so happy to finally share our wedding day with you guys! While I’ve always been more private with my personal life on Happily Grey, the excitement and, even more so, thankfulness I’ve felt through this experience makes it even sweeter to share.

Mad and I met a little over year ago, were engaged 5 months later, and married in 11 months…quick 51 weeks between meeting and tying the knot! My mom has always said “when you know you know” and now it all makes sense. Our friends thought we a little crazy initially — we assured them “No we’re not pregnant….just REALLY in love.”

We knew we wanted something small and intimate with our closet friends and family. Inspired by Kate Moss 2011 iconic wedding, I chose all white, fields of flowers, vintage cars, and an afternoon at Bloomsbury Farm, outside Nashville.

The ceremony was sweet and meaningful. Our 30 guest sat in chairs arranged in a circle around us. Madison’s brother officiated, our mothers’s lit a unit candle, and scripture was read from my grandparents bible. Madison and I both read aloud our personally written vows to each other which were then displayed at the reception on massive scrolls.

Afterward we all headed to the Cordelle in Nashville to celebrate with 90 more of our family and friends through the evening. Full band, sit down dinner with a fresh oyster bar (my surprise to Mad), performance by Noah Khan for our first dance (his surprise to me), packed dance floor, late night gelato and take-out tacos, and an exit to Florence The Machine –The Dog Days Are Over.

Best day of my life.
