Wishbone Leather Bracelet

Hey friends, I have another ultra-easy DIY bracelet project for you today. This glue-and-go design makes up in 5 minutes or less, it’s as simple as adding a sassy slider and a few drops of glue! If you’ve ever wondered how to make a leather bracelet, or if you spotted this photo and just want to know where I found this awesome clasp – read on. I’ve got you covered!

You don’t need any specialty tools or techniques to make this easy piece. Pretty much the only skill required is not gluing stuff to yourself (and don’t laugh, because I’ve done it before.) :P But seriously, it’s easy to turn a strip of leather, a slider, and this clasp into a stylish bracelet that’s as easy to wear as it is to make! I’ll leave links to the supplies I found at Goody Beads in case you’re looking to buy supplies. These are affiliate links, which means if you do decide you have to have it, your purchase supports my blog at no extra cost to you (and thank you, by the way).

Here’s what you’ll need:

First, double your leather, creating a loop at the end. Arrange the leather side-by side. Take a moment to check your loop – if the leather is twisted, then take the slider bead off and adjust it so that i makes a nice smooth loop. This will be the loop-end of your clasp.

Then, just add a drop or two of glue into each cup of the clasp. A little goes a long way; you can easily add more glue and re-attach it if it turns out you didn’t get enough, but if you get too much glue, it will show on the leather. Super New Glue drops in liquid, and hardens quickly. You’ll need to hold your leather in place for about a minute until it dries enough to continue, and let it set for at least 30 minutes before you wear it, but you’ll know within the first minute if you got enough glue.

The leather loop hooks over the peg on the wishbone clasp as to serve as your bracelet closure. It’s a great simple design!

You can mix and match whatever colors catch your eye! The clasps and sliders come in other finishes, and you can choose just about any color leather you like! I went with a nice neutral but pick something bright and springy, if that’s more your style!

Hope you all have a great weekend!
