How often to get procedures or treatments done are always the top question clients ask me. My general rule is to think of skincare as a pyramid. Dermatologist and surgical consults at the top with your daily skincare routine at the bottom. Here is a quick breakdown of How Often To Get Skincare Procedures.
YEARLY
Once a year check in with your dermatologist to get moles and skin issues addressed. This helps prevent different cancers and conditions. I also recommend checking in with a plastic surgeon to review your ultimate skincare aging plan. Things like Blepharoplasty and facelifts are ideally done in the mid to late 40s so you can see the best results during the 50s and 60s with just a few tweaks in the 60s and 70s to keep your goals.
QUARTERLY
Every 3-6, schedule your fillers and neuromodulators. Lasers, peels, and PRP fall into this time frame. I recommend meeting with your nurse injector to discuss a plan every year that is custom to your goals and skin. That way you can schedule your whole year of treatments. A lot of medspas give a great package price when you do it this way.
MONTHLY
Each month schedule yourself a facial, Hydrafacial, Morpheus 8, or micro-needling. IV therapy is another great self-care treatment to add to your monthly routine. It helps with anti-aging from the inside. With my clients, we sit down every 6 months and craft a plan based on their goals, budget, and schedule to keep them on track.
WEEKLY
Change your pillowcase, grab a B12 shot, hop under an LED panel, and invest in a good homecare mask to nourish or peel depending on your goals. Have your esthetician help you pick this out so it helps your skincare plan.
DAILY
Meditate, sauna, cold plunge, walk, drink your water, and always wash your face before bed. Your skincare routine is a daily must-do if you really want to achieve your skincare goals. Again work with your esthetician to craft a plan that works for you. Not just your skin type and skin goals but budget, realistic time commitment, and how to apply should be included.
