Babies, babies, babies! That’s what has been on my mind lately. And rightfully so, I suppose! :) Besides preparing for the arrival of our own little one, it seems that so many of my friends are expecting a little bundle, too! I’m always stumped when it comes to giving a new mom/baby gift, until I remembered that someone gave me a little care package when I was pregnant and I loved it! Perfect for mom AND baby. Here’s a package I recently put together with all my favorite essentials – like the softest swaddle blankets, foaming hand soap, treats for mom, and a whole lot more. If you want to make your own Welcome to the World package, there’s a link to a free printables below (for baby boys and girls!)

outfit: H&M blanket: Etsy pacifiers: Walmart

FOR BABY: a comfy cozy sleeper and hat are a must for those first few weeks of newborn bliss. A swaddle blanket doubles for the perfect naptime blanket or nursing cover (and this one is as soft as can be!) Include a few favorite baby essentials – like pacifiers, wipes or diapers, you can never have too many!

Foaming hand soap: Walmart

FOR VISITORS: The absolute worst moments during those first few weeks when Ellie was born, was when visitors (and all their kids!) would come by with horrid coughs, runny noses, and other nasty symptoms. I would literally wipe down the entire house after they left! To keep those germs away, these Softsoap Liquid Foaming Hand Wash bottles are an absolute must for every new mom! Dress up the kitchen sink with The Kitchen Citrus Bliss, and adorn your other sinks around the house with Jasmine & White Cotton and Whipped Cocoa Butter. I purchased these at Walmart to include in my package and they’re the perfect addition. Now that new mom can send those visitors directly to the sink to wash up before they touch that precious little baby!

Journal: Target Waterbottle and treats: Walmart

FOR MOM: Treats and a water bottle are essential for new moms – and most moms I know wouldn’t mind a diet Coke included, too. ;) Having a journal on hand or in the diaper bag is super handy too! I don’t know about you, but I was constantly forgetting things after I had my first baby. Whether it was writing down grocery lists or doctor’s appointment, or recording important baby firsts, having a journal on hand was amazing! Other things you could include: lotion, lanolin, chapstick, and healthy nursing snacks.

You could also include an extra little surprise for the new dad, big brother, or big sis! What essentials would you include in a new baby package?
