1. Apply a black base to the lid. It can be any black base but I used a kohl pencil buffed in with a flat brush. 2. Apply the same black kohl to the upper and lower waterlines. 3. With a fluffy brush, blend a warm brown into and slightly above the crease.
4. Apply a cranberry eyeshadow over 3/4's of the lid up to the crease using a flat brush. 5. On a pencil brush, apply a black eyeshadow to the outer third of the lid and through the crease. Pull the shadow outwards a tiny bit too. You'll need to apply and blend a few times here. 6. Apply some of the black and cranberry to the lower lid. I also added a bit of a copper/rosegold to the inner part to brighten it up.
7. Apply a thin line of gel liner to the top lash line and buff over it with the flat brush that was used earlier. 8. Go to town with mascara as there's no false lashes used. Don't be tempted to use false lashes as it's meant to be a bit grungy and not too "pretty". That's it!
The inspiration for the eye makeup.....
Kristen tends to wear cranberry shades a good bit and I love this smoky combination of cranberry and black. I can't say I'm a fan of her on screen but I think her makeup always looks amazing. I like how it tends to be a bit imperfected. Although I recreated the eyes in the above photo, I wanted to vamp my look up a bit which is why I paired it with a deep red lip but I think the peachy-pink shade Kristen is wearing is great for a softer approach.
