Taking a Dress from Work to Holiday

Black Pencil Dress (size xs – lots of colors under $100) // Gold Chain Watch // Nude Patent Pumps (sizes just restocked!) // Chanel Bag (similar under $30 here) // Sunglasses // Dual Pearl Earrings

Bow Bag // Red Crop Sweater (also loving this one 40% off)

As an outfit in itself, a dress is both easy-to-wear and can be one of the most versatile pieces you own. This dress is especially easy to restyle: a basic black, form-fitting pencil dress is the perfect foundation for an ensemble that is meant to go from day to night. I’m in love with the fit and it comes in seven different colors (the navy and red are next on my wish list). With a few additions, adjustments, and accessories, you can easily take this dress from 9 to 5 to date night or the many upcoming holiday parties (that can’t get here soon enough, if you ask me!).

One of the easiest ways to rework a dress is with a few layers – sweaters, scarves, fur vests, etc. For an extra dose of festivity, a crop sweater in the traditional red or green adds the perfect touch. A switch in handbags is another way to change your look. The red palette and bow on this mini cross-body bag reminded me of a present and seemed like the perfect addition to holiday-appropriate attire. These few quick additions can easily take a simple dress from day to night, whatever the occasion.

Below are a few more work to holiday pieces I am loving. I just ordered this dress and I’m obsessed. It’s even more gorgeous in person.
