Laundry Room | The Reveal
Thanks for the love and well wishes on yesterday’s Date Night Style post! Hard to believe we were floating in the middle of the Baltic Sea for that…and even harder to believe Mr. SP and I have been together so long! I told him last night I wasn’t sure I could go another 19 years…fortunately he knew I was kidding, and then he said something about me not being a ray of sunshine everyday either. Ha! #whatever #Igotyoursunshine
But then his therapist side kicked in, and he said, ‘Just one day at a time, baby.’ I may have rolled my eyes a little, but, he’s right…one day at a time is a lot easier to wrap my head around!
But enough unsolicited marriage chatter…let’s get to today’s post. It’s been a year in the making, but we finally completed the Laundry Room makeover, and I can safely say, this bright space has completely changed my attitude about laundry!

We completed the Mudroom side first (see it here), and I fully expected to add a large pop of color before revealing the rest of the room…either on the window or with a painted ceiling. But once the final touches were installed, I realized I actually loved the bright white! It really allows the floors to take center stage, and since it’s a room prone to clutter anyway, the white helps minimize that. Or least, the appearance of it!
To make room for the taller washing machine, we raised the cabinets to the ceiling…which made reaching them a little tricky. These rope pulls solved that issue, and add some warmth and texture to the room. Adding the shelf along the back of the washer and dryer created more work space, and gave the top-loading unit more of a built-in look.

The oversized sink and faucet is perfect for big messes…like muddy boots, art projects, and dogs! We also tiled the entire wall as added splash protection.

I wish I could say the Mudroom side still looked like this, but now it’s heaped with the remnants of a busy school year. I’m just thrilled to not be tripping over it any longer!

Carving out a centralized Command Center has been so helpful in keeping track of papers, invitations, and other important family ‘stuff.’ (Why does there have to be so much stuuuuufffffff?!?!)
Cleaning supplies are tucked behind the door, and kept organized and easy-to-reach with a nifty Elfa system.
We can’t have a reveal post without a Before and After…so just to remind you where we started with this room…
