Big Sis is 5! (a “Frozen” birthday party)

(Jon and Hollis share the same birthday, so on their real birthday, i made them this cake and we ate it for breakfast!)

yep, I have a five-year old (insert major eyebrow raise and momma-panic-attack from how the time could possibly pass this fast) and because we do a “big” party every other year, this was Sister’s year for hers. She chose “Frozen” from the Disney Movie and I took it loosely themed with a few Elsa and Anna gifts, but the decorations, favors, and food stuck with a more winter/snow/ice theme.

we had lots of white icicle lights hung from the ceiling, paper snowflakes, white streamers, balloons, and tablecloths. for centerpieces, i just filled mason jars with cotton balls and then tied balloons to them (easy and simple!). i also made a quick garland for behind the cake table and across the fireplace using thread and cotton balls.

awesome “snowy” ice punch recipe:

1. blue fruit punch

2. pineapple sherbet

3. Sprite

(easy, DELICIOUS cake tutorial)

the favors were an idea i got from HERE and were mason jars—made to look like snowmen with homemade white glitter play dough inside.

we are so proud of our big girl and loved having a day to celebrate her five beautiful years of life!

HERE is my Pinterest board with all of the links, etc for most of the ideas and DIY decor involved in the party. thanks to everyone who came and helped celebrate our darling girl!
