Jeremy Loops at Hoxton Square Bar

Last night we went to one of the best gigs I have been to in a long time. Jeremy Loops is a South African musician who, rather randomly, I came across whilst watching the travel blogs of
Ben Brown.

He has a really cool vibe and uses a loop pedal, I had no idea what that was but I learnt yesterday it's where you can record yourself or a sound and save it on the machine, meaning you can layer yourself as your own backing singer or some funky backing noises, at one point the crowd sang the chorus which was looped as the chorus backing which was great!
His album isn't out in the UK yet but you can buy Sinner and Skinny Blues on iTunes and listen on soundcloud or youtube.
I definitely recommend checking his music out, it's a mixture of folk, hip hop, reggae in fact really all types of beats, some songs have rap over them, saxaphone solos. It's just fab, definitely my favourite new musician to listen to.

Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen Review

We saw the gig at Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen and went for dinner and a quick drink before the show. The restaurant is funky and quirky, as you would expect in Hoxton really. The food was much better than expected and super cheap. You get 20% off if you show your gig tickets and 2 mains came to £10 and a few pence for two really filling and flavourful Mexican dishes (pulled chicken nachos and pulled pork and black bean burrito).
Overall a great venue, great food and drink, great company and a great music. Best night out in ages. Find out more here hoxtonsquarebar.com
