KIKO Modern Tribes Collection Review & Swatches

The Kiko Milano summer collection has been launched and it’s called Modern Tribes. I have been very impressed by Kiko cosmetics and think they are great quality and reasonably priced. Modern Tribes is a really pretty collection, featuring earthy tones of soft peachy pink and bronze, perfect for summer. The wooden compacts for blushes and bronzers with magnetic closures have a well sized mirror in the top and overall I think the collection is very unique.

The Tri-Bal Soul Baked Blush in Deluxe Coral
I decided to try a blush, the Tri-bal Soul Baked Blush in Deluxe Coral 01 RRP £14.90 and the corresponding brush, Modern Tribes Face Brush RRP £14.90.

The Tri-Bal Soul Baked Blush in Deluxe Coral is a baked blush with three different shades of pinky coral, it has a soft texture and gorgeous blendable formula. It also seems to be delicately scented with vanilla, which is a nice addition and does smell lovely.

The formula is not shimmery or glittery, instead imparting a subtle sheen that leaves you glowing, I love products that do this as I always find they make you look a bit younger. Dust sparingly onto the top of the cheekbones, and it will make the skin look alive, always a plus on a Monday morning!
The shades can be used separately as the dome of baked blush is fairly large; each section is big enough for you to easily get your brush into individually. I love all three shades separately and together, and I do think that the blush looks really fresh and natural on the skin. This is my favourite shade out of the three available. For reference I am usually the second or third shade from the palest in foundation.
At just under £15 I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from the Modern Tribes Face Brush, as a lot of my brushes are quite expensive, but the ergonomic cut of the brush means it fits perfectly and the bristled hug your cheek to make applying the perfect amount of blush in just the right place a total breeze (and in one sweep).

The brush is well made with super soft bristles, it’s easy to wash and dries quickly (which is important to me) and it looks good. I’ve tried this with a few other blushes from different brands and found it also works really well to help blend blush and contour colours together seamlessly for a natural look.
