DIY PARTY | Succulent Centerpiece + Berry Champagne Popsicles

Summer is winding down, but if you are looking to squeeze in one more backyard dinner party, I had some ideas for you! I know I can’t stop talking about my backyard, but after a decade of apartment living, it feels so good to finally have an outdoor space! And we have been using it to the absolute fullest. It’s been a little oasis in the middle of the city where my friends can pop by and relax, eat, drink and laugh the night away. We switched up the set up on the deck and brought out my kitchen table and chairs to create the perfect dining area for a dinner party.

I wanted to create an centerpiece that included two of my favorite things: succulents and pink! I spray-painted inexpensive terra-cotta pots pale pink – the larger ones are from the hardware store and you can find the tiny ones at the craft store. To save money on succulents, buy Hen and Chicken succulents ($10 for a bunch) and break then up and pot in the small planters.

Personal touches make for the best tablescape. Once I had my color scheme, instead of buying items that fit the theme, I made them, like the dyed napkins (tutorial here)!

The backdrop was created by sticking the stems of the eucalyptus and flowers through the slats in the fence. You could also use clear tape to adhere to a wall, stem-side up.

Make Berry Brut Popsicles by filing these bags with fruit and champagne (or pink lemonade), freeze and then eat, or add to a glass of Rosé to create a deliciously fruity drink.

Serve you popcicles in a glass of Rosé to keep your drink cold in the Summer heat! More pictures after the break!
